Best Breakfast Restaurants in Sayulita
Sayulita has an amazing variety of healthy breakfast options. There is no shortage of fresh smoothies, juices, açaí bowls, and health shots. But you’re in Mexico, so you probably want to find an authentic Mexican breakfast restaurant in Sayulita, right? Don’t worry – this list covers both!
Orangy
I walked by Orangy a handful of times without even noticing it. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall but after I saw a group of millennial women in yoga pants carrying smoothie bowls down the street, I discovered Orangy. Their offerings include immunity-boosting shots, kombucha, smoothie bowls, and fresh juices. Everything is fresh, and delicious, and the portions are filling.
Miscelanea
Miscelanea is located down a small alley, so you’ve really got to be on the lookout for it but it’s 100% worth it! They have an adorable courtyard, have great breakfast options, and serve breakfast all day.
El Itacate
El Itacate offers an authentic Mexican breakfast with large portions and heartwarming food. One of the best chilaquiles in Sayulita.
Organi-K
Organi-K offers fresh bowls, juices, and health shots. I stopped here most mornings to grab an immunity-boosting shot for the day, so I don’t have any pictures of their food. However, there’s this beautiful mural outside, so 1. you can’t miss it and it’s lovely to sit outside and eat or wait for your smoothie/juice/shot to-go.
Northside Cafe
Northside Cafe didn’t have the best food – it lacked flavor but they have really good baked goods and kombucha. This was perfect to grab and go on the way for an early morning photo shoot, beach day, or if you’re going on a tour.
Don Bonito Cafe
Don Bonito Cafe is located inside the Don Bonito Boutique Hotel and is a great stop after their morning rooftop yoga classes. They offer full breakfasts, baked goods, coffee, and amazing smoothies!
Best Lunch Restaurants in Sayulita
Kahlo Cocina Artesanal Mexicana
Kahlo’s vibe is so fun with its open-air restaurant, decor, and murals. I came here multiple times for lunch, dinner, and dessert. I was kinda obsessed with their Lychee Velvet soda. The portions were huge and the shrimp and fish tacos were delicious which is what’s pictured below in the skillet before the server brought out tortillas.
Xochi
I came to Xochi for its insta-worthy interior and ended up trying chapulines (grasshoppers) and loving them! Their hot pink and turquoise interior, beautiful mural stairs, and rooftop terrace overlooking the square make it one of the best locations in Sayulita. However, I wouldn’t say it’s the best food in Sayulita. But I did see a lot of remote workers logging in here, so they have strong WiFi which is a plus in Mexico!
La Rustica
La Rustica is an upscale pizza and pasta restaurant that is always packed and overflowing with a line. The open-air restaurant is very welcoming and allows you to people-watch, listen to live music, and watch street performers.
Best Dinner Restaurants in Sayulita
Achara
Surprisingly, Achara, Sayulita’s famous Thai restaurant, was my favorite restaurant in Sayulita. They have an amazing cocktail and mocktail menu, the portions are very big (seriously I’d consider sharing), and their food is fresh + the staff isn’t too bad to look at. 😉 I’ve tried their papaya salad, pumpkin fried rice, and Panang curry. They were all absolutely delicious!
Chaman Creative Kitchen
As you’re heading to the beach, this boho atmosphere may catch your eye or it might be the gorgeous women working – either way, stop! Creative Kitchen is a new restaurant in Sayulita and with their ever-changing menu, I believe they’ll be around for a while. I had the best ceviche here, delicious kombucha, and even met the owner and bought a dress from her boutique (the pink floral dress I’m wearing in photos at Xochi 😉).
Tropical House
Tropical House looks like a restaurant that should be open for breakfast, however, they’re only open for happy hour and dinner. As the name suggests, it’s a tropical vibe open-air restaurant in Sayulita that offers a variety of comfort foods, salads, and traditional Mexican.
Loro Cafe
Loro Cafe offers a mixture of Asian dishes with a spicy spin from ramens, dumplings, pho, and spring rolls. I’m a little biased after living in Asia but their dishes are hot and fresh if you’re looking for some Asian comfort food.
Yeikame
You’ll likely see people huddled around tables and a crowd waiting to grab a table here. Yeikame is quite popular with its flavorful food, large portions, and great prices. I mean, seriously check out this spread for the guacamole and chips I ordered. 😳
Best Dessert Restaurants in Sayulita
Santa Sal
Santa Sal has a great outdoor patio that overlooks the square – great for people-watching! I came here for the highly recommended churros but they weren’t available. But I was ready for dessert, so I tried their gluten-free brownie and vegan ice cream and it was incredible! I highly recommend it even if you’re not gluten-free or vegan.
Kahlo Cocina Artesnal Mexicana
Hands down the best churros I’ve ever had. They offer a variety of sauces to dip in and are just the right amount of crunchy and soft. Kahlo’s is a great spot for lunch, dinner, or a nightcap – which for me means fulfilling my sweet tooth craving.
