There are endless amounts of cafes in Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll pass many of them as you’re wandering around but a lot of them are hidden down alleys or up narrow staircases, flights above the city. It may be hard to find and can for sure be overwhelming to choose where to go. If you’re looking to work remotely, you’ll want a good balance of fast WiFi, good food, outlets to charge, and a good atmosphere. After working remotely in cafes around Ho Chi Minh City, I’ve found the best cafes for you to post up and work remotely in. These are the top 12 cafes in Ho Chi Minh City to work remotely at!

Food: Western Options, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Up a few flights of stairs sits this industrial cafe with high ceilings and tons of natural light and it’s one of the most popular cafes in Ho Chi Minh City. The Workshop Coffee is in District 1 and if you’re a coffee lover then you’re definitely going to want to come here. They’re well-known for their large selection of coffee beans. Unfortunately, I don’t drink caffeine, so I’m unable to offer much here.
As you enter, the coffee bar sits in the center with small tables around the room against tall windows and most importantly – outlets! There is a side room with a larger table if you’re co-working or having a meeting. Since it is quite a popular spot, the noise level is one of the loudest on this list. There’s a constant buzz of people working, on calls, having meetings, language lessons, or just chatting with friends.
Their menu offers a good selection for morning or afternoon + there are tons of naughty dessert treats to snack on throughout the day. The staff is friendly enough and pretty much leaves you alone except to deliver water all day which certainly helps keep you hydrated. Thankfully there is a clean bathroom right out in the hallway if you’re staying hydrated and working here all day.
L’Herbanyste

The best all-around atmosphere on this list goes to L’Herbanyste. Every corner of their property is SO insta-worthy; from the pool to cabanas and inside with vintage couches. Walking through the veranda covered in tropical plants, it opens up to a tropical hideaway with cabanas and loungers surrounding the pool. There are plenty of small tables available to sit outside if it’s not too hot and during the week it’s never too crowded. Escape the heat and step inside to the beautifully decorated cafe.
Looking for a healthy cafe in Ho Chi Minh City? L’Herbanyste offers vegan and vegetarian options, smoothie bowls, salads, and tons of fun juices and smoothies. You’ll definitely be seeing L’Herbanyste on my Best Brunches in HCMC list coming soon.

You’ll also find SoMa Saigon on my list of Best Brunches in Ho Chi Minh City. While it’s very popping on the weekends with its weekend brunch crowd and happy hour in the evening, it’s a great place to work during the weekdays.
Grab a seat outside if it’s cool enough or head inside to cool down and grab a table with an outlet. All of the seating along the wall have outlets underneath the seats which is great for charging up during a long workday. The food items are a fun unique take on traditional dishes like the breakfast bao tacos and they offer everything from coffee, tea, kombucha, smoothies, juices, spirits, beer, and wine. So take your pick on what kind of day you’re having!

I almost missed Kafka Cafe as it’s located down an adorable little hidden alley lane. You’ll see a large building with big windows and an entrance lined with tons of plants. It’s such a cool atmosphere with lots of natural light, a spiral staircase (decor only), funky light fixtures, greenery, and a full floor to ceiling wall with artwork.
It’s not very big, so I suggest arriving early as it gets busy later in the afternoon as students come to hangout and work. There are a few long group tables, a hightop at the coffee bar, and a little booth seating underneath the staircase along the wall. No matter where you decide to sit, there is an abundance of outlets.
They offer coffee, tea, and kombucha to drink and have a small selection of baked goods. There is a restaurant upstairs that gets busy for lunch but you cannot order and eat in the cafe, you must go upstairs. Which means you might lose your spot! 😟

Tartine Saigon has 6 locations spread around Ho Chi Minh City. Each one has its own unique charm and atmosphere but all are equally adorable. Tartine is the place to order bread in Saigon, so you know they have some of the best baked goods. Everything from sourdough bread to banana bread and of course, croissants, cookies, and ciabatta. A few key items on their breakfast menu are the Shakshuka and Granola Kefir. With fast WiFi, a spacious space to spread out, and a quiet environment you’re sure to stick around all day. Stay for lunch where they offer salads, sandwiches, quiche, and pizza, or just hang out and enjoy a smoothie. At Tartine, they never make you feel like you need to leave or keep ordering all day just to stay.

Although Mekong Merchant is a restaurant, during weekdays it’s totally fine to work here. The layout is quite spread out, so there are tons of little areas to work while not feeling like you’re disturbing the flow of anything. Their menu is expansive, healthy, and delicious with a variety of salads, bowls, sandwiches, burgers, etc. Happy hour starts at 4 pm if you end up staying later to work, there is a cocktail list full of wine, beer, and spirits plus fresh juice, smoothies, kombucha, tea, and coffee.

Another cafe that is a bit hard to find but once you do, it’s definitely somewhere you can setup all day. They have lots of different rooms to work from with different themes. There’s various types of seating including long conference style tables, single tables, and high top bar seatting against a large floor to ceiling window.
The natural light and fast WiFi will draw you in and the coffee, tea, juice, and variety of baked goods will keep you there. It’s one of the quietest places on this list but after 3pm it does get a bit busier with students working on group projects, language lessons, or just catching up. I’d recommend working here early and ending the work day at 3pm, moving someewhere else, or just popping in your noise-canceling headpohnes.
Danshari

Down a little alley sits this small minimalist cafe with floor-to-ceiling windows and a co-working vibe. There’s a large rectangular table that seats about 16 people and then 4 smaller tables for 2. All workstations have outlets and incredible lighting overhead in addition to the natural light. There’s no urgency to order from the coffee bar to stay but everyone has a drink or food throughout the day.
While I was here, it was completely full but the noise level was quite minimal as everyone was there to work. It doesn’t seem like the type of cafe people go to hang out as opposed to some of the others on this list. It’s a great place to work all day as it’s quiet and offers a good selection of beverages and tasty food + the staff is really kind and provides free water throughout the day. There’s an easily accessible and clean bathroom available if you’re staying all day and extra hyrdated!
WorkFlow
Address: 39 Nguyễn Duy Hiệu, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
WiFi: Yes
Hours: 8 am-7 pm
Food: No
Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Juice
Noise Level: Extremely Quiet
Price: $$
It’ll be hard to find WorkFlow on Google or Apple Maps as it’s brand new, so just use the exact address above and you’ll arrive at Little Thao Dien. WorkFlow sits towards the back but is easy to see from the street. As you enter, it feels like you’re entering a little garden as there are white rock paths, large greenery spread around the outside, and potted plants everywhere. It’s a very inviting atmosphere!
The thing that makes this cafe a bit different than the others are the various workstations provided. There are private glass cubes with desks inside that you can use for more privacy or take a call, there’s a standing desk and a bicycle desk. That’s all in addition to the small tables spread around for 2 to 4 people plus the high top coffee bar seating available.
The only downside is that they don’t offer food, so I’d recommend eating before you arrive! I did notice a few people ordered food around lunch time and they didn’t seem to have a problem with it but maybe because they’re so new it was okay. I wasn’t comfortalbe to do this and if you are going to, I would double check with the staff first.
Botanic Lane Florist & Tea Bar
Address: 02-03 Tilia, Empire City, Thủ Thiêm, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
WiFi: Yes
Hours: 8 am-7:30 pm
Food: No
Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Juice
Noise Level: Quiet
Price: $$$
It’s both a coffee tea shop and a florist so you’ll be surrounded by beautiful floral arrangements while you sip on your perfectly presented beverage. It’s a very peaceful place to work with a very quiet atmosphere as there is usually only 1-2 others in the shop. Plus, they just leave you alone and never pressure you to buy a thing. The only downside is that they don’t serve food, so I can’t stay here all day and there’s no public bathrom available.
Maison Marou
Address: 169 Đ. Calmette, Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
WiFi: Yes
Hours: 9 am-10 pm
Food: Limited Baked Goods
Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Hot/Cold Chocolate, Juice
Noise Level: Loud
Price: $$
Maison Marou is a chocolate lovers paradise! This is where you want to come if you’re looking for the best sweet treats while getting work done. They offer coffee, tea, and juice but their real specialties are their chocolate concoctions! I’m obsessed with their Marou Chocolate Cinnamon & Chili drink.
I can vouch that all their treats are good. The cocoa is sourced straight from the Mekong Delta and the chocolate is produced locally in Vietnam. They offering macaroons, cakes, fudge, brownies, chocolate bars, pan au chocolate, muffins, and croissants. The award-winning packaged chocolate bars make a great gift for friends and family back home -or a gift to yourself for a hard days work. 😉
The shop gets quite crowded in the afternoon as it is a little of a tourist attraction in Saigon. I’d recommend arriving early to work in peace.
The Workstation Coffee

WiFi: Yes
Hours: 7 am-2 pm
Food: No
Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Juice
Noise Level: Moderate

Outside The Workstation Coffee, the bustling street is quite chaotic. But once you swing through the big swivel wooden door, you’re transported into a quiet cafe full of remote workers. While I was there, a team of 8 had a conference at the large wooden table but it was still moderately quiet. The tables on the outer rim of the cafe (next to the outlets) were filled with people tapping away on their computers.
The Workstation Coffee has a great atmosphere and a variety of delicious options for beverages. One downside is that they don’t offer food. A case of a few baked goods and random snacks like popcorn are offered at the front. If you’re planning to stay for the day, eat before you arrive.
Good post!
