Whenever I move to a new city, one of the first things I do is start scouting brunch spots. So of course, I had to research and find the best brunches in Ho Chi Minh City! I had no idea there was such an incredible brunch scene here. Incredible food, Insta-worthy locations, and endless places to try every weekend. I did the hard work, so that you don’t have to and narrowed it down to the best of the best!
Here are the Best Brunches in Ho Chi Minh City from the brunch queen herself! 😉
THE BRIX – Eatery & Bar Lounge
26 Đ. Trần Ngọc Diện, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Weekdays: 11am-12am, Weekends: 9am-12am
If you’re looking for a spot with a chill vibe to spend the entire day…THE BRIX – Eatery & Bar Lounge is it! While indoor seating offers a reprieve from the heat, the outdoor seating surrounds the pool making for a perfect backdrop to your brunch and can carry on to a pool day.
The menu offers the classic sweets; pancakes, french toast, and waffles but as you move into the savory section you’ll find a bit of a twist! Entrees like beef tartare with chimichurri, salmon benedict over potato croquettes, and spicy crispy shrimp with rice and avocado. Not interested in a brunch dish? No worries, they offer a wide selection of salads, burgers, and sandwiches to choose from.
One of my favorite things about THE BRIX is their A+ mocktails. Out of all the brunches in Ho Chi Minh City, they have the best mocktail menu. They also have lots of fun juices and smoothies to choose from!
Little HaNoi Egg Coffee
119/5 Đ. Yersin, Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
2nd Floor, 212 Le Lai Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Everyday 8am-10pm
Little HaNoi Egg Coffee has 2 locations in Ho Chi Minh City and they are relatively close to each other – about 15 minutes walk. They don’t take reservations, so I’d suggest going either earlier or later as both cafes are quite small and there is often a wait. It’s definitely a spot where people settle in to hang out, read, work, and take a rest.
If it’s a comfortable day, the outside terrace offers a lovely view of the city and is great for people-watching. Little HaNoi Egg Cafe is the most no-frills spot on the list for brunch in Ho Chi Minh City. But their food is great quality, better prices, and hefty portions. You won’t be disappointed with anything you order and the staff is super friendly. If you come a few times, they’ll remember you!
Soma Saigon
6 Đ. Lê Văn Miến, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
7:30am-12am
You’ll find Soma Saigon on my best cafes to work remotely list as well as it’s a very chill place during the week. On weekends you’ll always find a bustling market with crafts, clothing, and jewelry – a great activity while waiting for a table for brunch! They offer unique takes on traditional brunch items like avocado toast and eggs benedict. While also offering non-traditional items like a breakfast bao taco or strawberry orange brioche french toast. The presentation is Insta-worthy while the taste is out of this world packed with flavor.
If you’re looking for a boozy brunch in Ho Chi Minh City, Soma Saigon is known for their Bottomless Mimosas on Sundays.
Godmother Bake & Brunch
2-4-6, 4 Đồng Khởi, Bến Nghé, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
8am-9pm
Godmother Bake & Brunch is typical of a brunch spot you’d find back in the states or Australia. It has a minimal design, a pink color scheme, and lots of greenery throughout the cafe. The large windows provide a lot of natural light while the arches and columns provide a bit of intimacy in the open-concept floorplan. There are lots of small tables spread throughout with evergreen and gold velour chairs, a large family-style table, and in the center sits a few pink couches. It’s all very Insta-worthy!
If you want to enjoy a sweet or savory breakfast at any time of the day, Godmother is it! The menu has items like Shakshouka, Brioche French Toast, and Atlantic Salmon Eggs Benedict. With an extensive beverage menu of coffee, tea, kombucha, juices, and smoothies you might be tempted to order a few like I did. The portions are a little smaller compared to other brunches but every dish is delicious and quite reasonably priced.
L’Usine
19 Đ. Lê Thánh Tôn, Bến Nghé, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
24 Đ. Thảo Điền, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
19 Đ. Lê Thánh Tôn, Bến Nghé, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
8am-9pm
L’Usine has multiple locations around Ho Chi Minh City depending on where you are! The thing that makes L’Usine unique on the brunch list is they each have a small shop attached to the restaurant where you can purchase local crafts and clothing. Oftentimes on the weekends, they host small workshops and markets in their shop or open space.
The menu features ricotta-stuffed pancakes with strawberries, smoked salmon or avocado with poached eggs toast, and a traditional English breakfast. Best news? L’Usine’s brunch menu is offered all day, so you can stop by any time of the day for your favorite brunch items! They offer a wide selection of other (non-brunch) entrees like flatbreads, pasta, sandwiches, and Asian cuisine favorites.
Cafe Marcel
19A Ngô Quang Huy, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 70000, Vietnam
9am-10pm
Cafe Marcel is a little French-style cafe in Thao Dien. They’re famous for their brunch items and burgers, so from 11 am-3 pm it gets quite busy. Plus it’s a very small cozy location with less than 15 small tables, so you’ll definitely need to make a reservation. The menu features Western brunch favorites like pancakes and eggs benedict, as well as a French twist seen in the Croque-Marcel. While the western brunch dishes sound very basic and bland, they are far from that. Incredible flavors and large portions – but you’ll also find very Western prices here.
Soko Bake Cake Brunch
27a Đ. Nguyễn Trung Trực, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
8am-10pm
You’ll definitely need to make a reservation at Soko Bake Cake Brunch. They have a 2-hour limit on reservations for a reason. It’s a very popular location for Vietnamese girls to take photos with their baked goods in this adorable contemporary cafe. But with 3 floors for dining, each space feels intimate and has natural light from the large window and lots of greenery.
Oftentimes when a brunch spot is a photo hotspot, it doesn’t always have the best food. That is simply not the case for Soko Bake Cake Brunch, their menu is mouthwatering. They’ve taken traditional breakfast favorites an fused them together. The Southern Fried Chicken Croffle Benny is a mix of chicken and waffle and a benedict while the Crab Omelette Croissant is a nice mix-up for a breakfast sandwich.
Have a look at the bakery case when you enter, Soko is known for its baked goods like cronuts, cruffins, and cube croissants.
The Vintage Emporium
95 Đ. Nguyễn Văn Thủ, Đa Kao, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
1 Đường 39, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
7am-9pm
The Vintage Emporium is just outside the touristy area of D1 in Da Kao. With floor-to-ceiling windows, plants spread around, and turquoise pops of colors the space is very inviting. Their brunch menu is quite expansive and they have incredible options for both savory and sweet. It took me about 15 minutes to make a decision and I was tempted to order more just to try it all. They have everything from breakfast sandwiches, smoothie bowls, eggs benedict, and pancakes.
Don’t get me started on their delicious drink menu. Not only do they have coffee and tea, but they also have a whole page dedicated to juices and smoothies with some very unique options. This is another spot that is quite popular with expats, so it can get busy on the weekends. I’d recommend making a reservation to avoid the wait.
L’Herbanyste
215E4 Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
9am-5pm
L’Herbanyste is a vegan and vegetarian brunch spot in Thao Dien. It’s down a cute hidden lane inside a restored historic Saigon home. The restaurant is on the bottom while a workshop and holistic therapy room are upstairs.
Every corner of the property is SO insta-worthy; from the pool to cabanas and inside with vintage couches. Walking through the veranda covered in tropical plants, it opens up to a tropical hideaway with cabanas and loungers surrounding the pool. There are plenty of small tables available to sit outside if it’s not too hot and during the week it’s never too crowded. Escape the heat and step inside to the beautifully decorated cafe.
Their plant-based menu offers dishes like a smoked carrot lox bagel, silky tofu benedict, and beetroot and spinach crepes. Buddha bowls and smoothie bowls are great savory and sweet options and definitely check out their beverages menu. They offer tons of fun juice and smoothie combinations. All ingredients are organic and locally and ethically sourced.
