Florida,
You made me the person I am today. I’ve called you home for the past decade. I escaped to you as a naïve 20-year-old college student. Through the sunshine and palm trees, you showed me how to not only navigate a new city solo but forced me out of my comfort zone to experience new people and places.
We’ve had some wild times in this city, but it’s time for me to go now and explore myself in a new, bigger and scarier city. I am forever grateful for the impact you’ve had on me to make me the woman I am today. You saw me through the worst and now you’ve prepared me for the best.
I leave you, now in the last year of my 20’s, a lot tanner, wiser, stronger, braver and more independent. I know the impact I’ve had on you doesn’t compare to the impact you’ve had on me; your waves will still crash and your sun will continue to shine, but I will leave pieces of my heart scattered here across your sand forever.
Thanks for all the memories, Florida.
